Additive
A substance added to something in small quantities to improve it. Examples of oil-soluble additives are the Oil Barrel™ Extract Syringes and Lingua™ Tinctures. Adding measured doses of CBD and other cannabinoids to your daily routine is easy.
Base
The principal ingredient of a product's mixture. Spyglass CBD™ uses the highest quality organic MCT oil bases in our Lingua™ Tinctures.
Bioavailability
How much of a specific compound can be absorbed into the bloodstream. A higher bioavailability means more of the compound enters the bloodstream.
Cannabidiol
Cannabidiol, or “CBD” is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant. CBD and other exotic cannabinoids are pulled from the hemp plant using CO2 extraction. CBD is non-psychoactive cannabinoid, meaning it will not impair mental judgement or create the intoxicating feeling commonly referred to as a “High”. CBD is found in our Oil Barrel™ Extract Syringes as well as our Lingua™ Tinctures.
CO2 Extraction
Supercritical CO2 Extraction is a form of fluid chromatography. Highly pressurized and adjusted to precise temperatures, CO2 gas is placed in a CO2 extraction tank with the plant matter. This CO2 works safely as a solvent for our cannabinoids and terpenes.
CoA
Certificate of Analysis or “CoA” are test results showing the safe and accurate extraction of Spyglass CBD™ cannabinoids like CBDV, THCV, and more.
Full Spectrum
A term used to refer to products containing a range of compounds found in the hemp plant. CBD can be one of many compounds found in a full spectrum product. Full spectrum products should contain multiple cannabinoids and terpenes, not just CBD.
Hemp
Hempis of the Cannabis Sativa plant species. Hemp is grown with the intention to use its raw material for extracts and many other industrial purposes.
Infused CBD
The method of fully mixing or completely incorporating CBD with a product, as opposed to spraying CBD, rolling CBD, or injecting CBD. This creates a totally even distribution of CBD with no “hot-spots” or “dead-zones”.
Isolate
The purest form of a compound. CBD Isolate is seen at room temperature in crystal form. CBD Isolate is one of many cannabinoids found in hemp. See an example of isolated CBD being used in our IsoTerp™.
MCT
Medium Chain Triglycerides or MCT is commonly used as a “Base” ingredient. MCT is oil-soluble.
Milligram
A unit of measurement. May be represented as “mg”. One- thousandth of a gram. Typically used to represent total “product strength”.
Milliliter
A unit of measurement. May be represented as “ml”. One-thousandth of a liter. Lingua™ Tinctures come in 15ml (milliliter) bottles.
Organic
Ourhempplants are grown naturally without the use of pesticides to promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity.
Product Strength
Usually measured in milligrams or mg, this number usually represents the weight of hemp extract in the final product.
Solubility
The ability for two things to mix into solution. Mix oil-soluble products only with oil based consumables (Butters, cooking oils). Mixing Oil and Water solutions together will not work.
Spyglass NutraHemp™
Proprietary blends of exotic cannabinoids, terpenes, and other ingredients used to aid in overall effectiveness.
Sublingual
Meaning “Under the tongue”, CBD can be taken Sublingually, or dropped under the tongue using the included graduated dropper/applicator. This is a common dosing method by which cannabinoids diffuse into the blood through tissues under the tongue. Use Lingua™ Tincturessublingually for fast results.
Terpenes
These compounds arecreated from the same glands that produce CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids. Terpenes are aromatic oils that create the distinct and notable differences between the cannabis varieties. Some terpene verities have the scent of berry, citrus, pine, or mint.
THC
Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, is another naturally occurring compound in hemp. THC is commonly associated with the psychoactive effects or “high” it creates when ingested.
Vegan
Vegan products do not contain animal products or byproducts and have not been tested on animals.
